I totally agree that there is something "different" between the two eyes. Maybe she got a right prosthetic eye?

Frances Conroy has corneal damage.  It has caused a cloudiness of her cornea, otherwise known as a cataract.  You can see that her eye has a slight turn inward as well, also caused by the corneal damage, as it is hard to see through that cloudiness.

I ve had eye problems for 30+ years, and I had a cataract (among other things) in my right eye.  I had scarring there and with time it became worse and caused the cataract.  My eye looked similar to Ms Conroy s in that it turned inward and was cloudy.

I ve since had that eye removed and now wear a prosthetic eye.  It looks just like my left eye.  It s highly unlikely that Ms Conroy would choose to wear a prosthetic that looked like an injured eye.

I believe it's a prosthetic eye and Frances doesn't like to discuss that fact. My dad had a glass eye, and it didn't always move the same way as his real eye did. Frances has this same problem. Both eyes don't always work together. It's okay, Frances, we don't care if you have a glass eye. Go ahead and talk about it. It might help other people with the same impairment.

from Americanhorrorstory.wikia.com■The actress who portrays the older version of Moira, Frances Conroy, actually has a discolored iris, she is not wearing contact lenses. She was in a car accident and then had eye surgery. Frances mentioned her eye problem in the casting sessions and the writers decided to make this a plot point so that she would not have to wear contact lenses. That is why Constance shooting Moira in the eye was written in
